St. Petersburg branch of the Bank of Moscow started operations in January 1999.

Considerable potential of the branch development is determined by "Development Strategy of St. Petersburg Branch of the Bank of Moscow for 2005 —  2006" approved by the Bank’s management. The strategy envisages penetration of the branch to a considerable share of St. Petersburg banking services market, gaining the status of one of the largest full-service bank institutions of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.

The foundation of the customer base of the branch is made up by private and state enterprises and companies running business in different production industries and business sectors of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region: machine-building, fuel and energy sector, food industry, applied science etc. These are the Finance Committee of the Government of the Leningrad Region, State Unitary Enterprise TEK SPb, Spetsgidroenergomontazh company, Lenoblgaz company, Mostostroy No 6 company, Trest No 68 company, ProdImport company, EFESk company, Federal State Unitary Enterprise NPP Signal, Lennefteprodukt company, City Investment Leasing Company, BALFRUT company, Metalworks company, Shuvalovo-Avto company.
