Money transfers in RUR and foreign currency from accounts and without opening an account

You may apply to the branches of the Bank of Moscow for money transfer in RUR and foreign currency from either your account or without opening one to any country by providing the required transfer details. Transfers are done if not connected with business activity.

The following details must be provided to transfer money:

When transferring RUR in the Russian Federation:

  • name of the receiver,
  • his/her/its address or ID details,
  • name of the bank that will pay out the transfer,
  • details (BIC and correspondent account),
  • receiver’s account number (if any).

When transferring RUR from the Russian Federation and foreign currency transfers:

  • receiver’s name (in Latin alphabet),
  • his/her/its address and ID details,
  • name and address of the bank that will pay out the transfer,
  • bank’s details and SWIFT-code,
  • receiver’s account number (if any).

Services are provided at the Bank’s approved rates.

(Said rates are valid for the Moscow region only. The rates charged at regional branches are given on the Bank branches’ pages).

Transfers are completed within two business days from the date of receipt of the money from the client.

(Please note that the time difference between the point of transfer and the point of destination and the receiving bank’s working hours should be taken into account).

You may apply foran urgent transferif needed.

Urgent transfer conditions:

  • urgent transfers to be completed during the day are accepted until 3 pm (until 12 am if in Euro);
  • urgent transfer accepted after 3 pm (after 12 am if in Euro) is completed within the Bank’s next business day.

Documents to be provided by the client for money transfer:

  • Individual’s ID (in accordance with Russian Federation Law)
  • Power of attorney (if transfer is made by an agent)
  • Tax registration certificate (if any)
  • Application for money transfer
  • Documents pertaining to money transfer that the authorised bank has the right to require within its terms of reference and in accordance with Russian Federation Law.

Valid for a client who is either a foreign citizen or a stateless citizen:

  • Migration card and a document confirming the right reside in the Russian Federation.

Restrictions when transfer is made without opening an account.

Transfers without opening a RUR account:

Under Russian Federation Law the following restrictions exist for transfers without opening a RUR account:

  • individuals − residents have the right to transfer from the Russian Federation amounts in the Russian currency without opening an account not exceeding the equivalent of USD 5000 at the exchange rate of the Bank of Russia as of the date of said transfer;
  • individuals − non-residents in the territory of the Russian Federation can transfer money via bank accounts only.

Transfers without opening a foreign currency account:

  • Transfers by resident individuals

    Resident individuals when performing foreign currency transactions have the right to transfer amounts in a foreign currency without opening an account not exceeding the equivalent of USD 5000 (at the exchange rate of the Bank of Russia as of the date of transfer) via one authorised bank within one banking day.

    In the territory of the Russian Federation transfers in a foreign currency cam be made between residents via bank accounts only.

  • Transfers by non-resident individuals
    Amounts in a foreign currency may be transferred in the Russian Federation by non-residents (legal entities and individuals) to a non-resident individual (without opening the receiver’s account) without any restrictions whatsoever.

    Cash amounts in a foreign currency can be transferred in and out of the Russian Federation to an individual without any restrictions whatsoever.

Return / change of transfer.

If needed a client may apply for a return/change of transfer details (unless the transfer has already been paid).

To do so the client has to apply to the Bank’s branch where the application for transfer has been filed.

Where a return is required because the client has given the wrong details the fee paid by the client for a transfer will not be returned.
