As of 20 April 2010 the Bank stops issuing Visa TravelMoney Cash Passport cards. Visa TravelMoney Cash Passport card holders will be able to cash their cards until and inclusive of 18 July 2010. The Bank of Moscow sells American Express travellers cheques nominated in US dollars and Euro. The commission of the Bank for American Express checks is 0.5%, min 10$, VAT included. Besides, American Express checks nominated in US dollars are sold for roubles at the rate of the Bank with a fixed commission of 10$, VAT included. Travellers cheques are a safe and convenient method of money carriage and in many instances can be used instead of cash. In case of loss or theft travellers cheques can be renewed. With the appearance of cheques in Euro the problem of safe travel to most European countries was resolved. Unused travellers cheques can be utilized during another trip or exchanged for cash in the branches and subsidiaries of the Bank of Moscow. The Bank of Moscow purchases Thomas Cook Master Card, Visa International, Citicorp, American Express travellers cheques (the commission charged by the Bank branches makes 1.5%, min 5$; the purchase of travellers cheques for RF roubles is effected without a commission at the rate of the Bank). The Bank of Moscow accepts from individuals personal cheques denominated in US dollars, euro, GB pounds sterling for their collection. A personal cheque is a non-issued security drawn on a certain person by an individual or legal entity abroad and payable by foreign banks. To submit a cheque for collection you should visit any branch of the Bank bringing with you the cheque and your identity document. The Bank commission makes 2% from the cheque amount, min 350 roubles, which is payable directly at presenting the cheque for collection. In case a foreign bank dishonours the cheque the commission paid to the Bank shall not be refunded.
